The Semi-Annual Post

Yeah, I love password recovery features .. helps when you're a bonehead and forget your password!
Yes, it's been a day or two since my last post, what else is new?!
I have loads of stuff to yack about: kids growing up, new job (yes you read that right!), my CUBBIES being in FIRST place, a new niece and of course life.

However this post is going to have to be a bit of a teaser as I just looked at the clock, it's almost time for church. Honestly I didn't think I'd be able to get back in here so quickly.

In my best Arnold S. impersonation ..."I'll be bacckkkk!"

Best TV Night

Thursday are by far the best night of TV. I'm a Survivor fan (have watched every season from the beginning!) and CSI:Las Vegas fan as well as Lost. Of course I have to chat a minute about this ...
Last week it was Ami's turn to say goodbye on Survivor. I have to admit she was never a favorite of mine so wasn't in the least upset to see her name written down. Several of the favorites chosen this time (mostly the girls) were by far not my favorites so find myself hoping for them to be voted off. Cirie is currently at the top of my wishlist to go home. She's bossy and controlling and overall I don't think a strong player (not physically) just doesn't bring much to the game. I do like the remaining female fans, it was funny because I really like Tracy until the last episode or two then really grow to dislike here. Kathy was too funny .. sorry she went. My favorite of course is Ozzy followed closely by James. It would have been funny to see Jonathan stick around longer.

I'm very excited that last week was finally a new episode on CSI. Another show I've watched since the premier. It's funny because I've tried to watch the 2 spinoff's Miami and New York but can't get into either one. Guess it's the casting, I really love William Peterson in the lead role.

Lost on the other hand .. this is my first season watching so of course am confused. The jumps in time and storyline are hard to follow but I enjoy the drama and the show seems very well written that I'm determined to stick with it and catch up. I need to rent some of the past seasons I guess to really follow it.

I have to admit I'm a soap *story* watcher. I still record General Hospital everyday on my DVR. Any other GH fans out there? I've watched As the World Turns, Bold and the Beautiful, Young and the Restless, Guiding Light and a little bit of Days of our Lives over the years and occasionally still read re-caps on the net of a few but GH is by far my favorite.

I'm hoping to spruce up the looks here a tiny bit soon but still learning the layout of things so that will have to wait.

It's raining and miserable here today .. where is spring? This is picture of the view out the window this morning. Sorry it's so blurry, the camera couldn't focus properly. It's a chilly 41 degrees. I can't imagine we'll be too awfully busy with customers, with weather like this. Generally it's only people who have a problem with their current vehicle or their work has been cancelled due to the weather that are out shopping in nasty weather. I guess the blessing is that at least it's not snow, we have gotten it in April before so it's not unheard of.

Ok, I need to get a move on .. may the blog be with you!

my brother in action

Ok, so not literally my brother but I joke that it's him in action!
This commercial makes me laugh until I nearly PIMP .. from the Superbowl

and this series of badger commercials is my inspiration

New Beginnings

Well, I'm unsure what happened by my wordpress journal is kaput (no idea if I'm spelling that right). I like the time and knowledge to try to figure out what's broken so have moved here and might just stay here as the no frills/no fuss approach appeals to me.
Perhaps I can better manage this and actually post on a somewhat frequent basis. I am not good at staying in touch via emails so dearly miss blogging as a way to keep up with my friends.
Once again, I'm asking you to bare with me as I get back into the swing of things and will try to be a better net buddy.

Ok, with all of that out of the way .. some quick updates. My 15 yo now has her driver's permit - ACK!! (I need to see if you can add smilies here!). She won't turn 16 until Nov. however the state of IL. has passed much more strict laws in regards to the number of hours required that she must drive before she can recieve her license so they are starting much earlier.
She's becoming a bit boycrazy as well .. ah vey!!

My 10 yo finally convinced us to let her get a fish. Just a simple little beta (which reminds me I promised to snap a pic of her and will try to share tomorrow) whom she's named Melody. For some reason fish give me the ICKS.

Our youngest baby (a Toy Yorkie!) has always thought she's a cat and now that we have a fish, she jumps onto the table (she can jump like a cat afterall she only weighs 4-5 lbs and is smaller then most cats) and watches the fish (much to my youngest's dismay!).

I'm still busy working for my brother at his auto dealership.
I haven't opened Paint Shop Pro in ages sadly. I do still sketch with a pencil and paper quite often as it's very relaxing for me and do wish I could find the time to still doodle with web graphics.

I will be popping by those whose URL's I remember (I don't have my handy dandy reads lists to check) so bear with me as I try to get back on track.
